Universe on its largest scales. It brings together theoretical

The bright spot at the bottom of this picture is due to an
exploding star, a so-called Type 1a supernovae. Such objects are
as bright as an entire galaxy during their explosion, and can be
seen at the far ends of the visible universe. Observations of Type
1a supernovae are helping us to unravel the nature of our
expanding Universe.
