What if you don't have enough DAC resolution?

• When power is delivered to the gradient amplifier, needs to be converted from a digital number to the analog gradient. Saw in last class that extremely small gradient steps are required.
• IF $\Delta k_{PE}$ requires 9.9DAC steps then might oscillate between taking 10 DAC steps and 9 DAC steps. Will end up with some sort of artifact in image related to error in sampling.
• System should be set up to make integral jumps in DAC as PE goes on, and adjust FOV, or number of points collected, if need be.
