- conceptionally simple, if understand 1D case (please raise your
hand, if you don't, or would like to talk more about it), but there
are lots of practical issues to deal with.
- what is being viewed in an image???
- usually looking at some sort of 2D projection (X-ray
is projection of whole body)
- properties varies from modality to modality
- goal is to be able to spatially localize disease in
3D.
- in MRI goal is to look at thin slices, similar to
microsope slides. (think visual human project)
- keep in mind question of in-plane and through-plane
resolution
- we will need to address the questions, like
- can we select a thin slice of tissue with MRI, if so, how, and
are there different ways to do it.
- how thin are the slices that we can achieve with MRI, and
what are the limiting factors???
