Practice Problem #01: Kinematics Review with Cartesian Unit Vectors

Remarks:

This is a kinematics problem, and therefore properly belongs in a mechanics class, such as Physics 121, and not Physics 122. However, it deals with a topic that is critical for Physics 122, namely the application of Cartesian Unit Vectors . Since these are so important in dealing with fields, I have given you a little "review problem" that gets you used to working with unit vectors once more.

Note that in the solution, we translate all of the numerical quantities into symbolic variables right away. This is a very good habit to get into.

No, I would not ask a question like this on an exam. But you will need to be able to use unit vectors.
