The fields of Cosmology and Astrophysics are currently among the
fastest growing and most exciting areas of research today. Scientists
at CWRU are working on several major new research programs that are
providing major steps forward in our understanding of the universe.
CERCA provides an interdisciplinary framework for interactions between
faculty, postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate
students, educators and the public. CERCA is particularly active in
supporting the world class research activities of scientists at CWRU
and making new connections to bring the excitement of this research to
the public at many levels. In particular, through
a collaboration with the CMNH CERCA is developing a research group associated
with the Shafran Planetarium, to help develop novel methods of conveying
the results at the forefront of cosmology and astrophysics to the public.

Graduate Studies in CERCA
Graduate studies in CERCA are coordinated through the graduate
programs of the Physics Department and the Astronomy Department.
Depending on their specific interests, students may apply to either
of these programs, both of which are an integral part of the CERCA
research community.
